Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Disneyland Parc and head in for one of the “closest, safest shaves” on Main Street U.S.A.

Dapper Dan’s Hair Cuts offers “scruffy” guests the opportunity for a cut or old fashioned shave in turn of the 20th century atmosphere, complete with antique leather chairs, dark wood trim and vintage ads and photographs.

When it opened in 1992, Dapper Dan’s was actually called the Harmony Barbershop, just like its counterpart in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. For about three years, the Dapper Dan’s of DLP, officially named The Main Street Quartet would perform outside but unfortunately both they and the original barbershop name were retired in 1995.

You can enter the shop through the Emporium, where dark wooden saloon doors welcome you to the “tonsorial parlour” or outside on Flower Street- just follow the red and white striped columns. If you’re coming from Main Street, make sure to notice the decorated mirrors on your way in. “Contemplate a New You” and “Picture Yourself with a Harmony Moustache,” gives guests both big and little, some fun photo ops.

The hours for Dapper Dan’s Hair Cuts are, like most things at DLP, are a bit hard to pin down so check with City Hall on your way in for an appointment. If you’re not in the market for a cut, stop by to listen in on one of the party line telephones found around Main Street U.S.A.

I’ve scoured the internet trying to find a video of the Main Street Quartet from the early 90′s, but haven’t had any luck. In the meantime, dlrpfans has a fun video of the shop here:
